Lesson Highlights
- The Lord can move hearts and prepare the way for His work, just as He inspired King Cyrus to let His people return and rebuild in Ezra 1.
- God’s work is strengthened when His people serve together with willing hearts, as seen in the rebuilding of the temple in Ezra 3–7 and the wall in Nehemiah 2; 4–6.
- When opposition comes, we can keep going with prayer, wisdom, and courage, remembering Nehemiah’s words: “I am doing a great work” (Nehemiah 6:3).
- The scriptures help us find strength and joy; in Nehemiah 8, the people listened to God’s word, understood it, and were filled with renewed faith.
- The Lord will help us finish good work when we stay focused on Him, trust His guidance, and remember that His purposes are greater than fear or discouragement.
