“"The Lord Looketh on the Heart"”
1 Samuel 8—10; 13
Monday, June 8, 2026 – Sunday, June 14, 2026
Lesson Highlights
- In 1 Samuel 8, Israel asked for a king like the nations around them, reminding us that human solutions can never replace trusting the Lord.
- In 1 Samuel 9–10, Saul was chosen and anointed as king, showing that the Lord can call and use someone who may seem ordinary or unlikely.
- Saul was humble at first and even hidden among the baggage, teaching us that the Lord values a willing and modest heart.
- In 1 Samuel 13, Saul acted before fully obeying the Lord’s command, reminding us that obedience and patience matter more than outward success.
- The Lord looks on the heart, so we can seek faith, humility, and trust in Him in our daily choices.
